Ceramics with the Grandkids

My dad is the owner/operator of Ohio Ceramic Supply. He sells all the materials needed to make ceramics of all kinds. Since retiring, my mom has gotten pretty crafty with the clay. The boys loved making their own bowls and figurines while we were in Ohio visiting. Here they are working under my mom's tutelage in her basement-made-studio:

Once everything is made, it has to dry out before it can be fired in the kiln.

After several hours of firing, here is the clay ready to be painted and glazed.



After one last firing the boys' masterpieces were revealed...along with a few leaf press pieces that my mom and I did.
